Ocean Motion Technologies is awarded Phase I SBIR Grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation• 08/01/2022 • Ocean Motion Technologies has been awarded a competitive grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) to conduct research & development work on the refinement of OMT's wave energy converter's advanced artificial intelligence control system.

Ocean Motion Technologies is selected for TEAMER Request for Technical Support (RFTS 6)• 06/21/2022 •Through the support from the TEAMER RFTS 1 and RFTS 2, OMT has set up WEC-SIM models and produced preliminary results on power output. The current application aims to request for technical support following a wave tank test in order to bridge the gap between simulation and small-scale experimentation. These efforts will aid OMT's ongoing DOE SBIR Phase II Project which will result in a field deployment with pilot customers. This project will focus on the following areas: coordination with wave tank tests for key data collection, and analysis of experimental data to support model and simulation updates.

Ocean Motion Technologies featured in Waves and Beaches: The Powerful Dynamics of Sea and Coast, 3rd Edition• 2021 • Waves and Beaches is one of the most definitive text on marine hydrokinetic dynamics. The 1st Edition was authored by Willard Bascom, a distinguished physical oceanographer. The book was published as part of the Science Study Series in 1964 by Doubleday Anchor Original. The most recent 3rd Edition was published by Patagonia in 2020 authored by Kim McCoy.
